A Little Something I have Tried: Green with a hint of silver!

First of all,

EID MUBARAK EVERYONE! May you have a blessed and happy eid <3

This is another look I was requested to do: a green-black eye makeup with touch of silver. Honestly I was't quite sure about how to incorporate silver in green, so I came up with this.

Let's get into the pictorial.

Step 1: Prime your eyelid.

Step 2: Apply a green eyeshadow base on the lid. you can also use black instead of green.

Step 3: Apply a matte green eyeshadow on top of the eyeshadow base. keep it on the lid only leaving the inner corner empty.

Step 4: Apply a matte dark brown eyeshadow in the crease.

Step 5: Blend the dark brown eyeshadow with a matte warm brown shade. By applying a warmer brown you will add some warmth to the look.

Step 6: Apply a matte black eyeshadow on the outer corner creating a V shape. and blend!

Step 7: Apply green and black eyeshadow on the lower lash line leaving the inner side empty.

Note that, until step 7, I have used all the matte eyeshadows. That way, when I will add silver in the inner corner it won't look over the top.and go back with reapplying the shadows if they lose their intensity.

Step 8: Now, apply a white/silver eyeshadow base in the inner corner of your eye. On top of that apply a metallic silver eyeshadow (that has glittery particles in it) and slightly blend with the green. Be very light handed while doing it, don't drag the shadows on to each other. (I have forgotten to click the part where I applied the silver eyeshadow, really sorry for that)

Tight line your waterlines. Highlight your brow bone with a champagne color. Apply eyeliner and mascara, and you are done!

Here's the complete look!

Hope you like it and do share with me if you recreate the look!

Regards and love,
Eeshita.

My take on the "No makeup makeup look"

I asked on my Facebook Page which makeup look the page's followers want to see the most, and the most requested one was "no makeup makeup look". So here I am today, trying to demonstrate my take on it.

Let me give a small talk on what "no makeup makeup look" is. Here, no makeup doesn't mean not putting any makeup, rather it means to put on makeup and still look natural. In a nutshell, it means to look JUST like your natural self, just a bit better :)

Products I have used to achieve this look will be listed at the end of the post.

Let's get started!

Step 1: Prime your face according to your skin type and your desired necessities.

Step 2: Apply color corrector if needed. I have terrible dark circles and some hyper-pigmentation, so I have applied color corrector on the areas those need color correcting.

Step 3: Apply under eye concealer. You ca do this after applying foundation as well, but I prefer applying it before foundation.

Step 4: Apply foundation. I love to dot the product on my skin and the blend the product. You can apply your desired coverage. My skin is at it's worst condition right now so I have used a full coverage foundation.

Step 5: This step is totally optional, so you can skip it if you don't need it. Apply Fix+ or any hydrating fixing spray you have. I do this because I feel like this makes my foundation look natural (if I apply a full coverage foundation) and helps to blend even better.

Step 6: Do spot correction with concealer.

Step 7: Set the foundation and concealer with a finishing powder. Blend really well.

Step 8: Contour. Don't go overboard with contouring, that is don't contour too dramatically. Keep it soft and blend well.

Step 9: Of course HIGHLIGHT! your natural skin glows even if you don't put on makeup, so highlight is mandatory (at least that's what I think) :P apply a light color blush on the apples of your cheeks and blend with a very soft hand. Don't make it look obvious that you have added colors to your cheeks.

Step 10: Do your eyebrows. Again, don't make it too arched or too bold and dramatic, keep it soft. If you already have dark and thick eyebrows you can skip it by applying a brow grooming gel only.

Step 11: Apply a warm brown eyeshadow on your crease. This will help to shape your eye. Apply a matte Ivory color on the lid, and blend with the crease color. It'll make your eyes look awake. Apply a shimmery champagne color eyeshadow on the inner tear duct. This will brighten up your whole eye area.

Step 12: Tightline your upper waterline before applying mascara. Trust me, it makes a whole world difference. See the picture below, my right eye (your left) is tightlined and it already helps to shape the lash line better.

Step 13: Apply Mascara and a light pink colored lipstick. If you don't have pigmented lips then you can replace lipstick with a lipgloss. You're done!

This is how you should look with all the makeup products apply. Yourself, just better and flawless :)

Here's a comparison of before and after make up application.

Products I have Used:
1) Smashbox Photo Finish Oil Free Primer
2) NYX Correcting Concealer in Orange
3) NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
4) Kat Von D Foundation and MAC Face & Body Foundation (mixed two to achieve a darker shade)
5) MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer
6) MAC Prep & Prime Transparent Finishing Powder
7) Smashbox Brow powder in Brunette
8) Urban Decay eyeshadow in Buck and Virgin (Virgin used as Highlighter)
9) Smashbox Lipstick in Bitten
10) MAC Blush in Fleur Power

Let me know if it helps you!

Love and regards,
Eeshita.

A Little Something I have Tried: less dramatic smokey eyes!

This is a smokey eye I prefer over the very much black and dramatic smokey eye. This eye makeup can be paired with any kind of outfit and you can do this look without worrying about what season it is. Moreover it is really really easy and takes only minutes to complete the whole look. If you are planning to wear saree during the daytime for special occasion then you can definitely try this one.

One little secret: this is my go to eye makeup when I am in a hurry and when I am too lazy to come up with a new look ;)

Let's see the steps to achieve this look.

Step 1: Prime your eyelids and lower lashline.

Step 2: Apply gel liner or pencil liner on the upper lash line and blend it. You can also use NYX Jumbo pencil in Black Bean to do this step.

Step 3: Take a matte black eyeshadow and apply it on the outer corner of your lid and slightly bring it to the crease. Make a V shape at first and blend it. Keep the shadow on the outer one-third of the eyelid.

Step 4: Take one dark brown eyeshadow and apply it on the crease with the help of a pencil brush and blend it. You can also use a warmer brown eyeshadow to blend the dark brown one and add a bit of warmth.

Step 5: Take a brownish bronze eyeshadow that has a metallic finish and apply it on the inner two-third of the lid. Blend it with the black eyeshadow you applied before. For reference I have used Urban Decay's Dark Horse from Naked 1 palette.

Step 6: On the lower lash line apply black eyeshadow on the outer half part and dark brown on the lower half part. Blend them together.

Step 7: Take a metallic bronze gold color in the inner tear duct to brighten the look.

Step 8: Tight line your upper and lower waterline ad apply heavy coats of mascara.

One tip: go back with applying more of the black and brown eyeshadow and reapply them to intensify the color payoff, because in the process of blending, both of the colors lose their intensity.

And you're done!

Here's how it looks when completed.

Let me know how you find it and if you recreate it please don't forget to share with me :)

Much love and respect,
Eeshita.

Urban Decay Electric Pressed Pigment Palette: quick review and swatch

I am doing this very short and quick review and swatch post on Urban Decay Electric Pressed Pigment Palette. It's available at Sephora and Urban Decay website, priced at USD 49.
I have already used this palette few times since I got it as a gift from my friend in the moth of May and I can swear I haven't found anything to complain about this palette.

The color payoff is insane and they stay put for almost as long as you want. I have seen very less fall outs with these pressed pigments. If you are a fan of bold and bright colors and if you want to invest in a high end brand, then this palette is an ultimate fix for you!

The palette comes with a double ended brush which I find quite useful as well. (if you want I can do a quick review on that brush too, just leave your comment below!).

Top (L-R) : Revolt, Gonzo, Slowbur, Savage, Fringe
Bottom (L-R): Chaos, Jilted, Urban, Freak, Thrash

Let me describe the colors a bit (reminding you, I suck at it):

Revolt: Metallic silver with silver glitter. The glitters are just a tad bit chunky and tend to fall out compared to the other shadows, but if you use an eyeshadow base it works better.

Gonzo: turquoise with a matte finish. it's a beautifully bright color which is wearable as well.

Slowburn: it's a bright orange color with red tones. I thought this might be powdery, but it blends really well without any fall out!

Savage: it's a bright pink color with matte texture. excellent color pay off. I have used it as blush as well :P

Fringe: it's a metallic teal and my most favorite color from this palette!

Chaos: its a bright blue color and is almost matte finished.

Jilted: "a bright metallic fuchsia with blue shift" that's how UD describes it ;) it's my second favorite color from this palette!

Urban: it;s a metallic purple and has awesome color pay off, my third favorite from the palette.

Freak: bright green, or neon green you can say.

Thrash: it's a lime green color with golden frost.

Here are some quick swatches of the pressed pigments from the palette:

I hope you find this post useful!

Love and regards,
Eeshita.

My birthday (2014)

This is just a random post where I will be sharing some photos from my birthday.

I uploaded a couple of these photos in my facebook profile and the question I was asked the most was about the saree I wore.

Well, I bought this saree from Bangladesh and to be more specific, from Moulovibazar. It's a district of my home state Sylhet, the store I got the saree from is named MB Store. If you love traditional sarees, DO pay a visit to this store, I promise you will not regret (yes, even if you come from some other state).

The earring is from Aarong, it's a gold plated one.

Now about the most important part, makeup. I was in tremendous hurry and moreover I haven't done make up on myself in a long while. So while I was applying my eyeshadow that day, I found out that these days I can do better makeup on people rather than on myself!!! what a shame!

The eyeshadows I used are from Urban Decay Electric Pressed Pigment Palette. I didn't have enough time to get some quality photos of the makeup, so I just had to choose whatever I could click and here's the only result I can show you :(

For the rest of the face, I have used MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer (review here) and set it with MAC Prep & Prime Transparent Finishing Powder (review here). I didn't add anything other than these two products for my base, not even any setting spray but to my utmost surprise, it stayed put beautifully till the end (around 5hours).

Lipstick is MAC Twig and blush is MAC Fleur Power.

and sorry I had to upload a group photo with my brothers as I don't have full photo of that saree apart from this one :/

That's all my people! Hope you like this blabbering post and if you want me to recreate the eye makeup just let me know in the comments!

Love and respect,
Eeshita.
