Review: Urban Decay Supercurl Curling Mascara

This review will be based on the travel-sized version of this mascara, which is 5.11ml/0.18floz versus the regular-size version which is 9ml/0.3floz. I received this Mascara with the Urban Decay Bride Kit and have fallen in love from the day one!
This is what Urban Decay says about this mascara:
"Not since your first spiral perm have you been this excited about something that curls. Our protein-packed Supercurl Curling Mascara boosts, curls, and sculpts your lashes, while conditioning incregients like silky proteins, meadowfoam seed oil, and shea better keep them sleek, smooth, and feathery-soft."

This travel size is $9 and you have to pay $20 for a full sized one!
The mascara brush the has a bunch of tiny, short spikes. It is slightly curved which helps curl your lashes and helps keep the curl longer. I kind of don't have any lashes (poor me...) so I always prefer mascaras which will add both volume and length. AND as I can't put on falsies I always crave for mascaras those will help me to get a bit volume atleast! So this is the ONE! But if you don't wear it with a light hand, it might clump your lashes.

The staying power of this mascara is pretty good too. It doesn't smudge or smear and the curls stays longer! Though I guess curling your lashes prior to applying this mascara may give you better result!

See, this is what happens to my kind of dead eyes after one coat! Well, I was in a hurry when I put the mascara on so didn't use the second coat, but trust me, when a second coat is applied, the lashes change dramatically!

I am definitely going to repurchase it again, but only the travel size. As you can't use a mascara more than 3months, why spend $11 more?? But I can say, this is my HG Mascara for now!!!!

I definitely recommend it. Let me know if you have used it and loved it too (well, if you hate it, then please feel free to let me know the reasons!).

Much much much love and respect,
Eeshita

Looks: Smokey eyes using MAC Thru The Night

I am not quite fond of smokey eyes specially on my eyes. My eyes are really small and for some unknown reasons smokey eyes are hard to pull on my eyes. Still, I tried to take little risk and do a smokey eye, when I received MAC Prolongwear eye shadow in Thru The Night. I was so excited about the shade (I don't know why but I went crazy for the Shade :P ) that I though Okay, lets give smokey eye a chance! ;) So here it is!

Products I have used:
MAC Prep+Prime Skin Base Visage
MAC Mineralize SPF 15 Foundation
MAC Select Sheer Loose Powder
MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer
Urban Decay Primer Potion Original
MAC Prolongwear e/s: Thru The Night
MAC e/s: Embark for blending and Goldmine for tear duct
Estee Lauder e/s: Rose Confetti for highlighting my brow bone and cheek bone
Jacqueline e/s: One in kind of bronzy color and one in black
Eyeliner: Maybelline Gel Liner
Mascara: Urban Decay Supercurl Curling Mascara
Eyepencil: May be Jordana's eye pencil in Navy Blue or something??! Sorry I have lost it :/
Estee Lauder blush in Rose wood
Lips: L'oreal Colour Juice Stick in Chai Love You

P.S. : for some weird reason the shade Thru The Night looks kind of black here. I will swatch it for you and you can see how lovely that shade is!
Please fell free to comment whatever you think about this look, specially point out the flaws. Any kind of constructive criticism is highly appreciated!

Review: MAC Prep+Prime Skin Base Visage

What MAC says about this product: An ultra-fluid lotion formulated with special-effect silicones. Calms and soothes the skin, blots away excess oil, and evens out skin redness. Improves the laydown and application of foundation or powder.

The primer comes in a black opaque bottle and this kind of annoyed me as I can't know when it will run out. Well it comes with a pump which is hygienic and delivers the right amount.

I agree with MAC upto a certain extent. Yes, this primer calms and soothes the skin and improves the laydown and application of foundation or powder. The primer has small right reflecting particles in it and it can make your skin glow and look healthy. Yes, when I apply the primer my skin becomes so smooth that I keep touching my skin! It does improve the base of foundation. Well, that might be my opinion but I feel like you can wear this primer alone and your skin will look fresh, not dull! I don't know if it evens out the redness as I never face that problem. Here's a comparison of before applying the primer and after applying the primer (Do you see the sparkly things?):

But it does NOT blot away or help to control my oil at all. The light reflecting particles does help to achieve a glowy skin, but I feel like it makes me look darker after a few hours! My bad....

It was $26.50 when I bought it and I find it a bit pricey.

Okay, so the verdict: I mix this primer with other oil control primers to achieve a glowy look along with some oil control properties! works fine for me.

I would of course recommend it if you have normal to dry skin. But for oily skin, you have to make sure to use some other products that control your oil along with it and you're good to go!

Looks: A soft smokey look :)

This is a look I did for an informal party a bit long ago.
Its a soft smokey eyes with nude lips. You see, I am not very much confident about making bold lips :P but yes, I do have plans to try out some bold colors on my lips soon. Until then, you have to endure my kind of nude lips! ;)
And I have never plucked my eyebrows, they are virgin yet lol and yes, I am not good at wearing false eye lashes but I am practising and I guess I will surprise you soon wearing them myself! :D

Urban Decay Primer Potion (Original): Totally in love with!

I don't know why I am reviewing this since there are tons of reviews on this thing but still can't resist!

The one I have is Original and its the one that comes in the bottle packaging with a doe foot applicator which helps to apply the primer potion easily. It was $18 when I bought it. I also got one with the Urban Decay Bride Kit and this is the one I am using now as I ran out of the first one. Urban Decay has launched a tube version but I don't have it. There are three more shades in this primer: Eden, Sin and Greed. I look forward to buying Eden soon, and as you can guess I don't have the rest three except for Original. Sigh....

So Original Urban Decay Primer Potion is kind of Matte and dries invisibly. I am absolutely in love this product as it lasts long, makes my eye shadows look more vibrant, doesn't crease and my eye shadows do not wear off anymore!

You don't need to apply a lot just a tiny dot works fine! I used to apply a lot in the beginning and found that my eye shadows creased. Then when I read other reviews I came to know that it happened because of applying a hell lot amount! (Well, I guess this is how I ran out of my first bottle so fast! Stupid me...!!!!) So if you apply a little (which is the right way), a bottle lasts a long time.

Yes I would recommend this and I would definitely repurchase it as it is my Holy Grail Product!!

Much love and respect,
Eeshita

MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer: A confusing product for me!

Concealer. It is kind of your best friend if you do not have a flawless skin and your foundation doesn't cover that much. You want your concealer to make you more beautiful and not to set in your lines when you smile and to stay put even in the rain, the humidity, the snow or to the disco where you break the floor dancing! ;)

MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer does that well but still leaves me confused whether to love it or hate it!

It is one of those sticky products which is hard to blend and you end up hating this product and cursing it like hell! Do I really hate it? NO, for God's sake!!!!
Housed in a paint pot style jar, this is a super pigmented product and doesn't need you to apply a huge amount; that is a little goes a long way! I bought it when it was $16.50.

Yes, it is difficult as hell to blend. At first I tried to apply with my fingers and it made me super cakey, setting up in my lines and creasing and what not! I started hating it as usual, but then again I thought to give it a second chance, so started using it again, but this time with a blending brush. Guess what? I ended up liking this little thing! No, its NOT my HG product, and I am going to try some liquid concealers recently, but still this product is kind of amazing if you are a patient blender! lol ;)

It creases a bit if you don't set it with a powder but it lasts long and does lighten my under eye circles and my acne scars. Well, I have two chicken pox scars on my face and this concealer couldn't help me hiding those. :(

I am NC 35 in this concealer and now comes the saddest part if you are thinking to give this little pot a try: MAC has discontinued most of the shades in this concealer and you will be lucky to find your shade only if you're NW 20, NW25, NC 20, NC 30.

I will definitely recommend this product if you want a long wearing concealer and you don't mind blending!

Much love and respect,
Eeshita

MAC Matte: Neither "Yay" nor "Nay"

I use MAC Matte as foundation primer.

Okay, so this is a matte-ifying cream, you can use this as a foundation primer or on bare skin. This is my first primer (?!) and I simply love the way it makes my skin feel smooth and silky. Yes it does matte-ify my skin instantly and when applied and makes my pores less visible. The gel consistency doesn't feel heavy on the skin at all! The packaging is awesome, you can squeeze out your desired amount.

But as I have crazy kind of oily skin specially during summer, this product doesn't help me much with oil control. I noticed shine after an hour or two I applied this (during summer) and I had to blot my face quite often! For fall or spring or winter, its totally ok, but for summer, well I am skeptical!

This was $18 when I bought it. You do not need much to apply so a little goes a long way.

I don't know yet if I will be repurchasing it again, but if you have dry or combination skin, I would recommend!

Much much much love and respect,
Eeshita
